Love Bestowed Upon Disabled Children: Interviewing Dr Liang Bing, Principal of Boai
School and Director of Rehabilitation Clinic, Suzhou Industrial Park
As disabled children are a major burden to society, the School integrates special education with rehabilitation for 340 disabled
aged 6 months to 22 years: mostly spastics and autistics. Rehabilitation is by physiotherapy, speech therapy, orthoptics,
traditional Chinese medicine, plaster corrective therapy, hydrotherapy and even horse-riding therapy, etc., aiming at converting
children with negative notions and no self-esteem into knowledgeable, cultivated and independent individuals using effective
methods, e.g., game tutorials, role plays, the Montessori Method and the “CKC” Digital Learning Information Technology
software as a means to expand cognitive education – with hands-on experience, learning is reinforced; familiarity with the
“CKC” Input System achieved. For mothers-to-be, Dr Liang advises avoiding contraceptive pills for two years before expected
conception; refrain from smoking and drinking; always keep an open mind; get enough sleep; take light physical exercises;
breast feed the baby, especially during the first 3 months; if mental development is subnormal, institute interventional methods
within 6 months!

作者和康復醫生，您對如何預防兒童腦癱和自
閉症有什麼話要講？
梁︰
首先我想說，“焦慮的家長帶出焦慮的孩子”，要
帶出健康的孩子，家長首先要改變，要提高自
己的醫學知識水平，盡量避免一些錯誤的做法
和生活習慣，才能減少兒童腦癱和自閉症的發
生。具體來說︰
(1)
孕前期的媽媽在懷孕的兩年
前，就不應該吃避孕藥，以免避孕藥對胎兒造

孩子們的騎馬療法
成不良影影響，這是非常重要的；
(2)
孕前期的
媽媽還應該戒煙、戒酒，煙酒對胎兒大腦發育
的危害，是顯而易見的，必須堅決戒除；
(3)
要
保持心情開朗，早睡早起，適當地做些家務；
(4)
孩子出生後，要多瞭解科學育嬰的知識，
採取母乳喂養。特別在嬰兒三個月之內，盡量
母親自己帶，因為母親比較懂得對孩子情感指
導，這是預防嬰兒神經發育異常的好措施。最
後，如發現嬰兒神經發育有異常情況，在六個
月之內介入治療，會取得比較好的效果，所以
有問題時，家長一定要懂得及時治療。
