Is There any Cancer Prevention Secrets?
The Second World Cancer Research Fund Expert Report: “Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global
Perspective” recommends: (1) Be as lean as feasible within the normal range: a healthy weight throughout life may be one of the
most important ways to protect against cancer (2) Have exercises equivalent to walking for at least 30 min. a day: as weight gain,
overweight and obesity are causes of some cancers (3) Consume energy-dense foods (>225-275 kcal/100g) and fast foods sparingly;
avoid sugary drinks: these do not provide satiety or compensatory intake reduction; (4) Take at least 5 portions of various non-starchy
vegetables and fruits a day: protects against various cancers (5) Avoid processed meat; take <500 g/week of red meat: convincing or
probably causes of some cancers (6) For cancer risks, avoid even small amounts of alcoholic drinks, regardless of type (7) As salt and
salt-preserved foods probably cause stomach cancer; and aflatoxin causes liver cancer, limit salt to <6g a day; avoid mouldy cereals or
pulses (8) Avoid dietary supplements. With this Report, the secret is self-determination and discipline!
