Dr Wang Minqing, now 87, is still extremely healthy, mentally clear and entirely independent. He believes in abiding to the nature’s
regulation: (1) Diet: he feeds himself merely to 70-80% full; compared with his younger days, he takes less red meat but more
fish, chicken and vegetables – hardly any snacks at all; candies are preferably avoided so as to avoid overburdening his pancreatic
function and possibly ending up in diabetes; moderate drinking of wine is actually beneficial to health; he is also against routinely and
obsessively drinking 8 glasses of water per day: water drinking really depends on the amount of sweating (2) He goes to bed at 10
pm; sleeps for 7-8 hours day; he never burns the might candle no matter what, lest his immunity should suffer (3) Physical exercises:
normally, he avoids taking a ride or the lift: at the age of 78, he still could climb 22 storeys: of course, regular practice was required;
he uses physical exercises to regulate his body weight (4) Develops hobbies that make him happy and content: despite his retirement,
he develops personal hobbies, e.g., singing, dancing, painting, calligraphy, etc. to benefit his body and mind: keep the brain active;
engage in social activities: participation in Peking opera has been his excellent choice!
