TAKE A MEAGER DIET TO LIVE A HUNDREDYEARS: MILD HUNGER IS HEALTHY ANDWORTHY
It was found that laboratory mice deliberately placed in a mild hunger state actually survived 30% longer than those mice that
were allowed to take feeds freely. Mild hunger is actually beneficial to our health - may prevent some common diseases and is
conducive to longevity; stimulates the potentials of the body, prolonging cellular survival periods. Recently, the Nature journal
reported a Japanese research that eating less, sporadic starving are the most effective ways of ensuring longer survivals of
mammals. For the elderly, maintenance of a mild hunger state is good for the brain, sympathetic nervous system, hormonal,
digestive and circulatory systems as well as enhancing perseverance and resistance. Unrestricted diets since young coupled
with similar excessive diets at later life would induce atherosclerosis, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, high cholesterol,
fatty liver, diabetes and dementia, etc. The WHO Collaborating Centre in Public Health and Aging reported that >70% of the
1250 centurions from 25 countries had disciplined dietary habits - despite the vast difference in economic makeup. For longevity,
take a meager but well-balanced diet!
