Mr
Wang, a
PhD,
works very hard
in
the
"F" city in USA, used to shout
at
his
kid
for misbehaviour.
His
neighbours
him
for
cruelty
to his
kid. One day,
the
kid
was
knocked down by a drunken
driver. ln hospital, as
the
Police Officer
John found
2linear,
dark brown bruises
at
the kid's
back
not
related
to
the
accident
and interviewed
Mr
Wang's
neighbours on
the
suspicion
of
Mr
Wang's cruelty
to the
kid.
Mr Wang
faced court
trial
but the bruises were
actually the result of a
folk
remedy of
scratching the skin along the meridians
to
relieve
the
kid's
flu
symptoms.
Unlike acupuncture,
the
remedy
was
scantily documented and was Greek
to
Americans
who could
never tolerate
cruelties
to
kids. Fortunately, through
the people-to-people activities, they got
to know
a
traditional Chinese physician
Jiang and a Dr
Nick
who had
learned
acupuncture
in
China
before.
Through
the wife
of
the Judge, they also
met
the
Judge who
even
received a
trial
folk
remedy
f
rom
Mr
Wang for flu
relief.
The
judge
was
still
reluctant
but
finally
decided
to
let Dr
Nick
testify in Court
on the traditional
remedy.
Though
convicted, the Court only ordered
Mr
Wang to withhold such remedies
and
to
accompany
his
kid
for 24
hours
every half-a-month.
