High blood pressure
can
be
primary
-
without any known causes;
or
it
can
be
secondary
to other
diseases
like inflammation of
the
kidneys, infec-
tion of the
kidney
and its
drainage
system; tumour of
the
adrenal gland
(just above
the
kidney);
or
related to
pregnancy
and
hormones.
High pres-
sure afiects the coronaries, elasticity
is
lost
and
the
lumen.narrows; through
excessive working against
the
high
blood pressure, the heart muscles also
enlarge; after several years, the heart
fails and results in shortness of breath,
body swelling
or
even blood in
the
phlegm.

brain,
