Live Leisurely: Take Time to Age
Zhuangzi, an ancient expert renowned for nurturing life, emphasized the importance of “purity and “serenity” as the basis for longevity.
In 1986, an Italian reporter Carlo Petrini proposed the “Slow Food Movement” to fight against rapid pace living. Soon, it evolved
into the very popular Slow Movement: slow to dine, slow to breath, slow to read, slow to act, slow to ponder and even slow to relax:
a series of slow living mode. Perhaps success would come later, but the quality of success is guaranteed. Japan’s Watanabe’s book,
Insensitive Force is on being “indifferent” (opposite of “perceptive”): tolerant, cool and composed – more apt for modern society and
especially the elderly! Nietzsche the philosopher noted that unfulfilled desire leads to frustration but desire fulfilled leads to boredom: a
scenario to be avoided by the elderly! As “less is more”, be carefree and content: lower your pace; shed your burdens; let go too heavy
responsibilities; lower your expectations. As an elderly, play your serenade leisurely: it is beautiful! Above all, age graciously and live
longer!
