Get up early. Start massaging the face and eyes, then, massage the chest and abdomen, take deep breaths. Have breakfast in
moderation: eggs, milk, bread, plain congee, lean pork, fish, shrimps, meatball congee, Ovaltine in milk, Horlicks, green tea, etc.,
Skipping breakfast is bad for health – after fasting for 7-8 hours during sleep, a full breakfast is required for the day’s work. Do this
consistently to be most healthy and content: good for body and mind. In winter, go to bed early and get up with sunrise to nourish the
yin qi; avoid catching a cold; in cold weathers, put on warm clothing progressively to avoid over clothing; avoid using an open fire to
warm the body, otherwise the yang qi would disappear with the sweat. The kidney system controls savory taste; the heart, bitterness;
reduction of salt enhances bitterness so as to nourish the heart. Avoid exposure to cold; having warmth balances yin and yang for your
best health. Yet, excessive warmth is detrimental. Take up indoor exercises, e.g., tai chi, aerobic dances, etc.
