Don’t Forget Tonics After Staying Overnight
Staying overnight for work or pleasure ruins our health. A survey found >80% stayed overnight; almost 70% have bad health. As
our diurnal rhythm, brain power, sight, skin, the gut and even our sleep are affected, take tonics. Lecithin-rich food, e.g., egg yolks,
are good for our brain. Ginseng combats tiredness but worsens hypertension. Chinese wolfberry fruit is good for “black eyes” from
sleeplessness; take it with dates or chrysanthemum petals as appropriate. Green tea and food rich in vitamins A and B complex, e.g.,
carrots, chives, pork, liver, etc., help to combat visual fatigue. Kiwi fruit is rich in vitamin C; trotter has abundant collagen – both help
to retain water and nourishment in the skin. Dang gui nourishes the blood, has a lot of trace elements and nourishes the skin. Chinese
wolfberry fruit nourishes the liver and the kidneys, also has anti-aging and nourishing skin properties. Chinese yam nourishes the
kidney “qi”, the spleen and the stomach. Du zhong nourishes the liver and the kidneys as well as muscles and bones. Sweet longnan
pulp nourishes the blood and the mentality – taken with dates, lotus seeds and gelatinous rice is an excellent breakfast.
