Mobile Phone: a “Portable Mine”? Are Mobile Phone Radiations Harmful to Health
The UK Department of Health had warned all children against prolonged mobile phone usage. Although a Denmark study on 420,000
mobile phone users found no increase of cancers, people are still concerned. The French Academy of Sciences announced there
was no relationship between the use of mobile phones and any bodily adverse effects of users. The Danish Cancer Society published
studies showing there was no difference on the rate of brain or central nervous system tumors, blood cancers or lymphomas between
mobile phone users and non-users. Yet a study published in the prestigious ’Lancet” showed that using mobile phones may lead to
memory loss, sleep disturbances, headache, convulsions and high blood pressure. The In 2014, a large 11-year UK study found no
ill effect on health, nor higher blood cancer rates in kids born from mother users. The EU warning is 1.3 watt/Kg body weight as the
limit. Beware: (1) Use earplugs (2) Distant from high radiations on connecting (3) Use ears alternately (4) Use it with strong signals (5)
Avoid putting phone under the pillow (6) Taboo users: epileptics, cardiac pace maker users, cataract patients and pregnancy (7) Avoid
