DIET RESTRICTION TO COMBAT AGEING
Ageing in different persons would have different paces and the style of nutrition has a lot to do with the pace of ageing. Our
energy come from carbohydrates, protein and fat to provide for all our needs, including our daily energy requirements. As there
should be a good balance of the intake and the output, deficits lead to weight loss and impairment of immunity; an excess would
lead to accumulation of the surplus in the form of fat deposited in our bodies. In time, we become overweight, adding extra
burden to the body and various diseases develop. According to research, it is especially important to avoid excess energy
deposition during young, otherwise longevity is affected. The worst is to have excess energy intake during young and also during
adulthood - the effect on longevity would be greatest. For inhabitants of Okinawa, their energy intake is 40% less than Americans
but their life expectancy is 4 years longer. Moreover, from studies on obesity and pathologically obese subjects, long-term
limitation of energy intake to prevent overweight would lengthen life by 3-13 years. Therefore, take food in moderation; avoid
eating to the heart's content.
