A DEED OF LOVE
The face of a 31-year old
man from theYongxing County
Chenzhou City, Hunan, had a
15-kg tumour reaching past
his umbilicus - a hunch-back
cripple failing to close his
mouth with all teeth lost. In
di re desperat ion, he was

Cheng of the Fu Da Cancer
Hospital where detail investi-
gations showed it to be a "neu-
rofibroma" (benign); broncho-
scopy found his wind-pipe sys-
tem uncompromised - a pre-
requisite for anaesthesia;
magnetic resonance imaging
documented all blood vessel
architectures of the tumour
and the surrounding. On 24
July, the anaesthesia took 40
min (due to par tial tumour
compression of the wind-
pipe). As Argon-helium Cryo-
therapy by Dr Niu Li Zhi was
the main modality, excision of
the 12+ Kg tumour had only
800 ml blood loss during the
hou r - l ong su r ge r y. Pos t -
operatively, he was observed
closely at the Intensive Care
Unit for possible bleeding. Ar-

into the tumour enables liquid

廣州復大腫瘤醫院為黃春才重塑新人生
為拯救“中國罕見象人”黃春才，全球華裔伸出援手
在中國湖南省 州市永興縣一個偏遠的小山村㛐，一個
31 歲的青年男子，頭臉部竟然長有一個重約 15 公斤的巨
瘤，一直垂過肚臍，將其壓成駝背，成為一個令人驚恐又同
情不已的畸形小矮人。
由於臉部長年累月懸著巨大的肉瘤，脊椎也嚴重畸形，已變
得不成人形之黃春才。而且，由於上顎與下顎無法咬合在一起，
黃春才不到20歲就開始掉牙，到25歲時，一口牙齒已全部脫光。
如今，31歲的黃春才已幾乎失去了聽力和說話功能。不但站著和
坐著時都要用雙手吃力地捧著像大冬瓜一樣的巨瘤，連睡覺都只
能側向腫瘤較大的一面。湖南記者李淩先生得知此患者的情況
後，千方百計聯繫廣州復大腫瘤醫院徐克成教授。徐教授親自到
湖南視察病人後，果斷派車迎接他前往廣州復大腫瘤醫院進行診
治。醫院氬氦刀冷凍治療專家牛立志博士查看了黃春才的面部腫
瘤後，認為：“這是目前世界醫學界至今為止所發現的最大腫
瘤。”該院邀請廣州市所有相關醫學專家對其進行醫療會診，研究
病情。決定進行第一步治療方案，主要目標是先切除掉面部最大
的那一塊15公斤以上的那個腫瘤。患者和記者們聽到能夠有希望
進行治療的消息，都感到非常興奮，大家都為黃春才祝福、祈
禱，熱切期待手術成功，為黃春才重塑新生。
