Wu Ze-tian,
the
most
cel-
ebrated Chinese empress
in
Tang
Dynasty, had

long
life.
She died
at
the
age of eighty-one (from
624
AD to
7O5
AD).

other emperors who

live such

long time
in
ancient
China.
At the time of Tang
Dy-
nasty, the average life-span
of

lay people was usually less than
thirty
years.
Why Wu Ze-tian,

empress lived

a long life is
unknown.

peror'',
was always alert and sen-

hearing even
soon before
her
death.
Based on
an extensive investigation of her
personal history, her secret
of
health
and
longevity
was
unrav-
eled
by
the present
paper.
A long-
lived
family background,
keep ad-
equate
exercise, enjoy
music and
be
open and broad-minded were
considered important factors asso-
ciated with her
longevity.
She was
also
fond
of
playing chess
and
writ-
ing poem;
these
may be the
other
factors
that
help her have a
long
life.
