There was
a
13-year
old
juvenile
Huang
who
had com-
mitted suicide
by
taking pesti-
cides
just
because
he
was
beaten
up and
scolded bitterly
by
his
father after
Huang
had
hurt
a
next
door
kid.
Another
14-
year
old
juvenile Liu
had also
committed suicide by
hanging
because the teacher
had
made
a
big
luzz over
Liu's hurting
a
classmate.
After that,
he was
not only reprimanded but
also
ordered
to
go home
and
fetch
his parents back
to
school. An-
other
juvenile
Zhao
aged
15
was admitted to
hospitalfor
"an-
orexia
nervosa"
through too
rig-
orous dieting because she was
ridiculed
by
her
English
teacher
for being
"obese"; fortunately
she was
saved.
Allthese
cases
illustrate that
the
psychological
endurance
of
juveniles
are
poor, especially
for
girls
who
tend
to
be more
emotionaland
fragile.
Unlike mature adults
with
rational minds, they may be
unable
to
think
or
act rationally.
When they could
not solve
their
emotional problems, they
may
well
resort to what they believe
to
be
the
only way out
-
com-
mitting suicide.
Parents
and
teachers must understand their
emotions and mentality,
espe-
cially when the only child
in
the
family
is
often
thoroughly
spoilt!
