Agency for Research
on
Cancer, smok-
ing is not only an important cause of
lung, larynx,
pharynx, esophagus,
bladder, kidney pelvis
and
pancreas
cancers
but
also weakly related to can-
cers ol the stomach, kidney body,
liver,
nose
and
myeloid
leukemia.
Acrylamide,
a
nerve toxin
that
may
cause
cancer,
may
accumulate
during
deep
frying.
Natural occurring plants
may
even
be related to
cancers
linked
to
the
Epstein-Barr virus
-
the early an-
tigen of which
can
be stimulated when
cell lines containing the
virus
are chal-
lenged
by
such plant
extracts;
lortunately, the vast majority
of
these
have not been used
by
practicing
physicians.

20% of breast
cancers.
