THEWEATHER AFFECTS
COMMON
RESPIRATORY
DISEASES
Hot or cold, damp or dry
weather
do affect our
state of
mind, appetite,
work
capability and even sleep. During
cold winters, vascular diseases
of
the
heart and
the
brain commonly happen
or
worsen. Respiratory
diseases, e.9.,
bronchitis and asthma are so closely
related to the weather
that
even during
the change
of the weather, e.9., at
the
transition from spring to summer, when
llowers
bloom, these also tend
to
be
more common. ln
fact,
even
the
par-
ticles
in
the air, e.9., dust, dust
mite
residues, viruses, pollen,
etc.
vary with
the seasons
and
are
related to the
vary-
ing incidence
rates in
different seasons,
as these particles are closely related
to
respiratory diseases, especially
asthma. ln particular, viruses are resis-
tant to
cold
-
they survive
well
and
spread widely during cold
weather.
The
dust mite
propagates during June to
Seplember and asthma increases soon
afterwards.
ln
rural areas, even "hay
fever" that are
associated
with the
stack-
ing up of
hay are
commonly
known.
Refrain from smoking
-
it
definitely
makes
things
worse;
take
up progres-
sive cold exposure exercises;
clean
up
the environment and
reduce pollution;
avoid using
carpets or
clean
them
frequently.
