CHRONIC GASTRIC DISEASES
The so-called Helicobacter pylori
(Hp) has been
considered
a
bacteria
as-
sociated
with the
etiology
of
chronic
gastric disorders including peptic ulcers
of stomach and duodenal, chronic gas-
tritis and even gastric
carcinoma.
Evi-
dence showed
that the
Hp
infection
is
worldwide health problem because the
bacteria has been detected with varing
degree of prevalence in populations
ol
ditferent geographic areas
or
regions
in
the
world.
Transmission
of
Hp
is
possible from person to person
(oral
to
oral,
or
fecal to oral) or patient to medi-
cal staff via
endoscope
or
other medias.
Treatment recommendations include
antibiotics and powerful gastric acid in-
hibitors such as H-2 blockers or proton
inhibitor like
Omeprazole.
For
eradica-
tion of
the
bacteria
in
the stomach and
duodenal, seeking detailed
medical
advices
from a gastroenterologist
is
suggested.
