RESTORE
THE
DYING
TO
LIFE
Everybody knows
that
doc-
tors can never restore
life
after
it
has
passed
away.
However,
medical science and modern tech-
nology
have
progressed and made
it
possible to save
and
restore the
life
of
many
patients
at the critical
stage.
Available experience
and
evidence showed that
many
cases
on the verge of his grave one can
be resuscitated
if
effective therapy
is instituted
immediately.
Never-
theless,
a
successful resuscitation
cannot
be
expected
if
effective car-
diac rhythm has not been restored
and
the patient's pupil
are fixed
and dilated
-
incurability
and
death.
Traditionally,
in
every society,
arrest
of
heart action has
been
taken
as
the only valid medical cri-
terion
of
death.
But, as
every mod-
ern
physician knows,
the
heart
may sometimes be miraculously
restored
to
action minutes
or
much
longer after
it
has
stopped.
On
the
other hand,
other
vital organs such
as the brain may be
destroyed,
leaving
the
individual essentially
dead
as
far as his mind and con-
sciousness are concerned, while
his heart action
and
blood circula-
tion are
maintained.
Most
thought-
ful
physicians and many
lay
people
concede
that such a state
is
equivalent to death even though
the
heart still beats. The present
paper gives
you
a brief answer of
correctly dealing with
a
death-re-
lated
problem.
