"Treating in anticipation" is a well-established TCM concept: (1) According to the natural history of diseases, to treat a step ahead
is far better (2) Even before the organ or the qi and secretions are affected, to sooth in anticipation as a preventive measure, again,
acting according to the natural history - healing is facilitated (3) Although established diseases are still treatable, rendering successful
treatment at a much earlier stage would have less adverse effects (4) The spread of diseases depends on the aggressiveness of
the evil; the vitality of the body and the appropriateness of treatment - one must formulate the most strategic plan (5) As the
natural disease development is from minor to critical, one must treat accordingly to prevent the disease from getting worse so
that the prognosis of the disease would not get from bad to worse (6) When the disease has obviously got worse already, one still
should try to prevent complications from occurring, otherwise, one's life may be threatened (7) As after disease control, relapse
may occur through the wrong diet, excessive work or being precipitated by infections, follow up treatments are mandatory.
