SECRETS OF PROTECTING THE HEART
Prof Yu Hanli of Harbin Medical University opined, paying attention to daily living reduces the incidence rate of heart disease
considerably. As adversities abound, strive to be optimistic and carefree. Taking a consistent half-hour daily physical exercise
reduces risks by 30%. Reduce blood pressure by "burning" excessive fat and taking less salt and sugar. Take 30 grams of nuts
(no salt!) a day - raise "good cholesterol" (HDL) levels to around 50, e.g., by taking exercises, nuts, olive oil; although statin drugs
mainly reduce the "bad cholesterol", some of them also reduce HDL. As the bacteria (or the toxins) of gingivitis of the gums may
reach the heart, pay good attention to oral hygiene - brushing teeth twice a day; use dental floss; even chewing hard food helps
our circulation - the brain gets 20% more blood. Lower saturated fat (beef, pork, dairy products, palm oil) intakes to 20 gram a day
(100 gram of meat has 4 gram); avoid "trans" fat: partially oxidized vegetable oil, e.g., in potato chips and French fries - worse than
saturated fats. Reduce sugar intake. Drink a glass of red wine. Take 8 kinds of vegetables, especially spinach that contains folic
acid.
