The appropriate choice
of
tonic
medicine
is vital for
good
cancer
control.
However,
statements like "Yunzhi, the fight
against the cancer
devil
was totally
dependent
on you"
is
highly
misleading. Moreover, "yunzhi"
is
often
confused with
"essence of
yunzhi".
National
certification
and
registration
are
mandatory for
the
latter.
The essence would dissolve
in water whereas yunzhi itself
would not. "Polysaccharide"
is
just
a
vague
general term
without any
reference
to
any
medicinal
compounds
at
allwhereas
"PSP"
stands
for
"Polysaccharide
Peptide";'PSKu,
protein-bound
polysaccharide
K. Both
represent
very special compounds extracted
from
the
mycelium
of
yunzhi.
Without any such extraction, any
claims
for
PSK and PSP
contents
is
like selling whole oranges
as
equivalent
to
"Vitamin C tablets".
Unlike
wild ginseng,
"wild
yunzhi"
has look-alikes
to
"Coriolus
versicolor", the species specified
by
the
Chinese Government
-
properties
differ
markedly,
let
alone possibility
of
being
poisonous.
Above
all,
individual
cases "getting better" does
not
contribute
to
proof on efficacy
-
published large clinical
trials
are
always
required!
