SENIOR
BUT
NOT DODDERING
Signs of
senility are
not
just
wrinkles on the face. Even more "tell tale" signs are
the
general doddering
appearance of
the
elderly
-
evident
even
some distance
away,
e.9.,
lost
of
hair,
double
chin,
flabby
neck,
chunky belly and
a
hunch back, etc.
Nowadays,
far
too
much
attention is paid
to
anti-wrinkle treatments,
operations,
massages, facials, electronic
treatments
are synonymous
with
anti-aging treatments. Although
management
of
wrinkles appears to
be "the
easy
way
out",
it pays to
tackle other more obvious signs
of aging.
With determination and time,
even
these other doddering signs can be
overcome.
Walk
like a
young
man
through regular running
exercises,
swimming, cycling,
etc. To
prevent
double
chin,
take
regular neck exercises;
use wide
crepe
bandages to sew
a
"tailor made" neck support
to
be
worn
when watching TV or when doing
household chores; avoid exposure of the neck to the sun and the cold; avoid using
too
much soap that takes
away
the
natural oily protection of
the neck.The
hair style
should
be
changed
regularly to avoid
too
much strain
on
just one part
of
the
scalp causing
hair loss;
if
you
bind
your
hair, never pull too tight; release
them
at
once
on
reaching
home;avoid
excessive perms; be relaxed.
Protect
your hands against
detergents;apply
balsam
and
then
put on
thin
rubber gloves
at
night. Regular
sit
ups and waist exercises prevent
the
chunky
belly.
Always
maintain correct postures and
gait
to
prevent hunch backs and clumsy walking.
