THE
REALITY
OF
BEAUTIFYING BY OVARIAN PRESERVATION
Recently, ovarian preservation is claimed
to
beautify ladies. However,
on
lying down,
even
the
doctor
is
not able to feel
the
ovaries as
these are
between
the
bladder and
the
rectum. Even
when performing
ultra-
sound scanning
of
the
ovaries,
the
subject has
to drink
lots of water so as
to
distend
the
bladder,
othenruise
the ovaries cannot
be
visualized clearly by
ultrasound.
Thus, only ignorant beauticians
believe
that their bare
hands can actually reach the ovaries by applying some oil to
the
skin and claim that they are now "massag-
ing"
the
ovaries.
These beauticians also claimed that these oils are exerting a beneficial
effect
to the ovaries,
e.9.,
the
oil
would
act
through the circulation
as
well as lymphatics to enhance
the
pituitary gland
to
promote
more follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) which,
in
turn,
would
reach the ovaries to stimulate their function.
ln
actual
fact,
these oils are
not even
absorbed
into
the
blood
at all,
let
alone
reaching
the required
blood
concentration after absorption
to
have pharmacological action on
the
pituitaries. Even
their
infra red equip-
ment
can
never
reach the ovaries. ln fact, those women
in
the
peri-menopausal stage already
have high
enough FSH
but
the ovaries
had
failed to respond. Prof Li Da-jin
of
the Shanghai Obstetrics and Gynecology
Research lnstitute opined that,
there
is no need
for
females
to
preserve the ovaries except to take appropri-
ate
exercises, take
things
easy and
consume
more
fruits
and vegetables
to
absorb enough vitamins.
