LIFE DEPENDS
ON
MOTION;
LONGEVITY DEPENDS ON SERENITY
The
life expectancy
of Chinese people
has increased
from
35
years (some 50 years ago) to that of
71
years now and more. Most
people assume that,
by
pursuing
physical exercises, longevity
would
follow.
Life
is
not
only a growing process
-
from
infant to
toddler to
adolescent
to
adult to elderly but also a process
that
has
a
finite
ending.
Motion
signifies metabolism,
life and vigor, e.9.,
organs
in
the
body are in motion.
However,
"motion" does not actually
mean
sports
activities but rather,
the
motion of a philosophy, of a concept of
biological
metabolism.
sports
activities do lengthen
life but
to a
limited
degree.
other
aging postulations are the loss of regulation of neuronal, endo-
crine and
immunity control; extra-cellular
base
material
change and
hereditary. Despite
certain truth,
none
would account entirely for aging.
As
manual laborers often have more aged
skin:coarse,
dry,
lack
of
elastic-
ity
and
luster,
etc., sports activities
may
age our tissues.
Moreover,
the
potential for
repair of
the body organs
is
very
evident and profound
-
despite very elderly age, foci of active
cell
regenerations can still be found.
Thus,
if
we can slow down or halt
the
metabolic process or
the
motion process, more and more cells would
be able
to
exploit progressively
their
remarkably great potential of
cell
regeneration
-
a
true
anti-aging
method.
Thus,
life
depends on motion
but longevity
depends
on
serenity
for
maximum preservation
of cell
regeneration.
