Tears are shed not only because
of sadness
but
also
happiness.
Crying
is
an
important
relief
valve lor emotions.
The tear that flows
upon
crying
is
different from those flowing at
normal
times or when
stimulated
by, eg,
onions.
The emotional tears contain endorphin
and prolactin. The former
is similar
to
the natural
opium
that can kill
pain.
Hence, production of
tears
is
closely
related
to
the reliel of
stress.
Hence,
crying should not be
suppressed,
unless
it is
excessive or
not
associated
with stressful
emotion.
Smile occurs as
early as 8 days of lile

expression
of
satisfaction. The
earlier
the
baby
smiles,
the
earlier
the
physical
development. Laughter
is not only an
activity of the facial muscles but may
involve other parts ol
the
body, eg,
the
limbs.

of
the brain.
Moreover, the stomach

stimulated and digestive juice secretion
