Nucleic
acid
is a
group
of
complex organic acids
found
especially
in the
nucleus
(the
core of a cell) of all
living cells
and
essential

life.
Nucleic
acid
is
widely
distributed
in
natural foods.
Although
informations
about

precise
content

specific foods

limited,
nucleic acid
content of
some common foods has
been
determined.
lt
is
now
known
that
the
best source
is
dried
sardines.
Animal organs,
sea
food
oyster and grains
are also
good sources.
Based
on recent
studies,
there are
claims
that
foods
containing
high
con-
centration
of
nucleic
acid
seems
to
benefit
life
mainten-
ance process
and
can
indeed
counteract
the aging
process.
ln
addition,
nucleic
acid
may
have
a
special therapeutic
or
preventive
effect
on
tumor
growth. Thus,
foods
containing
nucleic
acid
appear
to
be
an
useful general
measure
for
patients
with
malignancies.
