Prof Lung, 88, is a world-renowned orthopedic specialist who has tremendous academic contribution on spinal misalignment
management: postulated as the actual cause of many diseases. Prevention is hailed as paramount: avoid para-spinal soft tissue
damage and articulation instability between spinal bodies arising from prolonged poor posture. Upon mild injury or overwork,
the cervical spine is misaligned. For those working long hours in improper postures, try performing whole body exercises to
compensate; when working long hours at desk, try lifting up the head; turn the neck left and right, stretch the back 1-3 times an
hour; never read or watch TV in a semi-reclining position: induces spinal misalignment: involvement of the para-sympathetic
nerves induces chest discomfort, palpitations, dizziness, insomnia, backache, numbness of fingers, excessive sweating, etc.
Adjust table & chair heights appropriately. For sportsmen, acute, mild twisting may cause cartilage discs between spines to
degenerate. Accidental misalignment needs prompt correction. Deformities occurring in the young should also be corrected.
Above all, have prompt and appropriate treatments (Western & TCM) of all spinal misalignments!
