FATAL CANCEROUS TRANSFORMATION OF A MOLE ON THE SOLE OF THE FOOT
Although moles are commonplace, they may become malignant at times. Once, a Dr Zhang had a mole on the sole of one of his
feet on the thenar aspect, near the big toe - since young. For such "pressure point" moles, excision is required, lest frequent
pressure and abrasion provoke it to turn malignant years later. Unfortunately, Dr Zhang neglected and presented as cough with
blood in his phlegm - secondary spread to the lungs, the liver and the groin nodes from the "mole" that became cancerous:
larger in size, darker, with surrounding redness. Unfortunately, he died 1.5 months later. For all these moles with considerable
pressure and friction, they must be excised. Avoid any attempt to remove it "conservatively": may stimulate it into malignancy!
Even moles on sun-exposed areas have a higher chance of turning malignant. Signs of the "transformation": (1) Accelerated
growth or enlargement (2) Hairy moles lose their hair, or, the surface becoming roughened and darker (3) Redness around the
mole; pseudopods ("false legs"), or become nipple-like or crater-like (4) Discharges or bleeding (5) Satellite nodules (6) Painful (7)
Lymph nodes. Act now!
