Though convenient, as
the
years
go
by,
such
injections had
adverse effects due
to the
in-
jected silicone, e.9.,
tissue
infiltration, impairment
of
liver
function
and even
the
immunity.
A
variant
of
silicone, Hydrophilic
Polyacrylamide Gel (PAAG) has
been used in 300,000 women
during
the
last
9
years
in
China.
However, adverse effects
are
also
signif
icant,
e.9.,
disfigurement,
tissue
breakdown,
gelatinous
discharge, etc.
PAAG may mi-
grate to other parts
of
the
body
and
is very difficult to
take
out.
Although
PAAG
is now banned
in
China,
the
aftermath
remains. After injection, the
vast
majority
of
women would avoid
breast cancer
screening
procedures, lest
their
"secret"
be revealed,
let alone
the
infil-
tration
of
the tissues by
PAAG
forming
numerous
islets
of
PAAG:
breast
feeding
is
affected; as
the
PAAG
islets
may disintegrate into
toxic
chemicals with potential
harm
to
immunity,
taking out
the
PAAG
after 4-5
years
is
recommended. However, even
endoscopic removal could
re-
move only 80-90%
of
islets of
PAAG if
numerous.
