HIGH
QUALITY
MILK
POWDER DIFFER FROM
IMPORTS?
Due
to
past backward pro-
duction technologies, domestic
milk powder had
mild
difficulty
in
dissolving. However, with the
introduction of better technolo-
gies and know how, the quality
of
domestic milk powder
has
improved considerably
and
well
in
line with
international
standards. Yet, many
people
still have
the misconception that
the
higher costs
of
imports (for
taxation, transportation
and
higher profit margins)
is
directly
related
to
better
quality.
Even
the cost
of
foreign bands manu-
factured domestically
is
stilltoo
high.
ln
fact, our
State
Admin-
istration of
Quality
Supervision
and Quarantine has recently
approved 22 brands of
infant
formulae
from
17 enterprise
groups
to
enjoy
"inspection
exemption": all have excellent
track
records; passed 3
con-
secutive times
strict
testing
criteria; achieving higher than
National and industry produc-
tion standards;
have compre-
hensive quality
control systems;
with
record
of
economic
effi-
ciency
reckoned
to
be among
the
best, etc.
These
enterprise
groups have also
got
ISO
9000
Certification. Thus, their
prod-
uct is no different
from
imports.
