IS'BRAIN'S
PLATINUM''
REALLY FANTASTIC?
"Brain's
Platinum"
is
a
trade
name
for
melatonin,
normally secreted by our
pi-
neal gland of
the
brain. The
main
function
is
to
regulate
the
sleep/wake biological
cycle.
After
middle age, the
secretion diminishes; appro-
priate supplements
ol
mela-
tonin
may help immune
and
anti-oxidant
and even sexual
functions.
lt
also has
mild
blood pressure
lowering ef-
fects but should
not
be
used
instead of
the
usual
blood
pressure drugs. Prevention of
cancer,
heart and blood
ves-
sel diseases
had
also
been
reported.
However, claims
like
"A middle man
9O-year-
old", "the greatest
break-
through
of
the Century"
are
gross exaggerations
-
similar
products
have
long been
in
the
market for
years
and
even
costing just a tiny fraction of
that
of
"Brain's
Platinum".
Conversion
of
any old
man
into middle age
is
just
impos-
sible medically.
Moreover,
the
vendors
emphasized that,
"Once taken, healthy for
life".
This
is
also gross exaggera-
tion because melatonin
may
slowdown
the
aging and
de-
generative
processes
but
would never
"make
a
kid
out
of an old man"!
