1959

life-saving
DC
defibrillator, cardiovertor and introduced
lidocaine injection
for
irregular heart
beats,
has
a heart.
On
behall of
the
lnternational Physicians
for
the Preven-
tion of
Nuclear
War, he and
Evgeni
Chazov accepted
the
Nobel
Peace
Prize
in
1985.
His
mentor,
Samuel
Levine had
fine
medical ethics
and
emphasized
the
relevance
of
psy
chological factors. Even Hippocrates
stressed
the
atfectionate nature
in the
making of keen doctors. Sympathy and
empathy go a long way but intimidating
language spoils all relationships. 2/3
of
heart cases
have
psychological factors.

vivid
symptoms (anxiety

lnegular heart beats usually
result
from
vagus nerve derangement;
overactive parasympathetic nerves that
release endorphin. As

in tea, coffee or coke precipitates such

Endorphin causes the coronaries to go
into severe spasms
and
heart attacks.

blood pressure
is
due to apprehension
from
the
clinical setting; misinterpreta-
tion of
such
may result
in
over
treatment.

technology, doctors
themselves still got
to
be
comfortable
with the fate of
death
so that
the
man-
agement of death problems
ol
their
patients would be greatly facilitated.
