PAVINGTHEWAY
FOR
MODERNISATION
OF
TRADITIONAL CHINESE
MEDICINE
Modernisation
of
traditional
Chinese medicine (TCM) would help
its
further developmenl and international
implementation.
The
Holographic
Biological
Law
states
that
micro-
systems
or
miniature biological
units
are
miniature representatives of the whole
organism.
lnterviewing the
Chief
Physician Du Chang-hua
of the
Bao
Shan
TCM Hospital
in
Shanghai serves
as a precious and first-hand input
on
this new biological
theory.
Biological ells
are "omni-potent"
-
they contain the full
copy of
the
genetic code for
the
whole
biological organism so that appropriate
multiplication would lead
to
a copy of
the whole organism.
ln
line with this,
this
new Law studies
the scientific
basis
of
TCM
methods for
diagnosis
and
treatment, e.9., the
observation of
tongue
changes
would accurately
reflect parallel changes of the whole
body; acupuncture on
different
parts
of
the ear lobe
has proven effect
on
diflerent organs
in
the
body.
The
new
Law
would
not only
elucidate the sound
scientific
basis of
TCM
but
would
also
assist the prevailing analytical scientific
study methods
of
body
functions.
Moreover,
an important application
is
the Holographic Diagnostic
Method
to
detect body malfunctioning by noting
micro-system bio-physical changes, e.9.,
those
of skin electrical
resistance of
parts of
the ear
lobe.
