The incident
occurred
in
1997,
somewhere in USA. Glen reported at
home
to the
police
that
he suddenly
found
his wife Stephanie
to
be dead
in
the
bathtub.
The police found Glen was
still
hugging Stephanie beside the
bathtub. The cause
of
death
was
classified
as
sudden collapse from
an
unknown cause. Later on,
the
police
became
suspicious
because
the
wearing
of a diamond ring when going
to
bath was most unnatural. As
the
coroner who examined the corpse also
found the
body
temperature to
be
just
1oC
lower than normal, she had
died
much
laterthan
what Glen
had
testified.
However,
Glen protested further
in-
vestigation as the
Jewish
religious
rule dictates burial before
the
next
sundown
alter
death.
This
was over-
ruled on grounds
of
possible serious
crime. As there was evaporation of
water with time, marks of strangulation
on her neck
became clearer and
Glen
finally admitted that
he strangulated
Stephanie, took off her clothes and put
her
into
the
bathtub.
The
motive was
to
claim for insurance so as to pay
for
the
considerable
debt
that Glen
had ac-
cumulated over the years. Glen
actu-
ally believed that his manipulation
after
the murder would ensure prompt burial
