Vaginal gas production disorder
occurs more
often in the
married
women. As these
women
find
it
too
embarrassing
to
consult the doctor,
the
experience on such cases
is
limited.
ln
his
vast experience, Prof Chen catego-
rized
the disorder
in
order
to
lacilitate
etfective management. Type
I
presents
with phlegm, excessive whitish vaginal
discharge, itchiness
of
the vulva,
etc.,
due
to
lack of body secretions going
beyond
the
stomach so
that
phlegm is
produced.
Treatment is
by
channeling
secretions
to the
bowel. Type
ll
presents
with
pallor
and lower
abdominal pain, etc.,
caused
by
def
iciency
of
the
spleen and
the
kidneys; waste
gas
is diverted to the
wrong cavity; treatment
is
to strength
the spleen
and
the
kidneys. Type
lll
presents with tiredness, excessive
whitish vaginal discharge,
etc., due
to
deficiency
of the middle
warmer energy;
treatment is
to
recover
the
middle
energy.Type lV presents with initability,
pre-menstral tension,
excessive
yellowish vaginal discharge,
itchiness
of vulva, etc., due
to
heatiness
of
the
liver and
dampness
of the
spleen;
treatment
is
to strengthen the spleen
and getting
rid of
the
dampness. Type
V presents with annoyance, excessive
whitish vaginal discharge,
etc., due
to
weakness of the liver; treatment
is
to
relieve liver congestion.
