is interesting to note the postu-
lations on menstral disturbance from
an
established Chinese Physician
and
Teacher Chen
Wei
Lin.
Various heredi-
tary
and acquired factors interplay with
pathogenic insults
-
the "intermediate
stage"
between health and
disease.
Menstral pain
may be
due to cold
evil
that disturbs or stagnates the flush and
conception vessels; excessive menstral
flow or frequent periods may
be
due
to
heat predominance
resulling
in
inegu-
larity
of
the flush and conception ves-
sels; lack
of menstruation
may be due
to mental trauma resulting
in
the block-
age
of
the flush and
conception vessels.
It is remarkable that the same patho-
gen
can
result in
a
wide
spectrum dis-
ease categories, depending
on
whether
it is heat stasis due
to
heat evil, cold
stasis
due
to cold
evil
or qi-deficiency
due
to
exhaustion.

menstral distur-
bance is due
to
other evil qi, the dis-
ease may have heaty transformation
and disturb the flush and conception
vessels.
Above
all, as a
minority
of
such
cases is due to cancer, it pays to
ex-
clude
this
before subscribing benign
causes.
