BEWARE
OF QUACKS
Many
quacks claim
that
they have
"miraculous"
healing
methods.
Their
characteristics are:
indiscriminate
advertising and publicity; unorthodox
training,
e.9.,
from
ancient books
on
herbal medicine; alleged having tried
all
sorts
of
herbs themselves
but
prescriptions are in the toxic
range.
Apart from
making
claims
to
cure
many incurable conditions, they also
exaggerate
their
number of patients
or
even the number of gifts and souvenirs
ever
received.
The magnitude
of
their
claims would easily
be
considered for
the world-renowned Nobel prize or at
least National
prizes.
The author
had
the chance
of
witnessing one
of
these
"clinics": even basic
sterilization
techniques were
lacking; the "proof"
that
the
method worked was totally
unacceptable; the demonstration
was
entirely illogical and unscientific.
ln fact,
the
main modalities
for
cancer
are
surgery,
radiotherapy
and
chemo-
therapy, all others, including herbs and
even
qigong are supplementary treat-
ment only.
Diabetes requires meticulous
and
regular administration
of
anti-
diabetic
agents
unless
mild.
There are
no easy alternatives or short cuts at
all.
