TRAGIC DEATH

The
first
American
president
George Washington died tragically
from acute laryngitis
-
inflammation
of the
voice
box.
When Washington
experienced pain and
breathing
difficulty,
he ordered
the
doctor to
perform
the
(then
very
popular)
blood-letting
procedure.
After
the
second
letting,
a
joint
consultation
recommended
tracheostomy
(opening
of the wind-pipe
to
overcome
the
air
obstruction) but
was
not
well
received.
After
2,000
ml

of blood was let, he
died.
We must not have
blind
faith
in
advertisements
on
new
lreatment
modalities,
eg,
"The All-powerful
Qi
Gong".
Do
not
believe
in
the
advertisement
of
new drugs
or
be
deceived
by
the
packaging, their
false
pretense
that
expensive drugs
mean
good
drugs.
During
all
medical
consultations,
always
take
note of
the
opinion given by
the
doctor
-
avoid
being
biased by your own opinion, eg,
requesting for antibiotics
for
presumed
bacterial infection when the "cough and
cold"
was actually due
to
virus infection.
Finally, never insist on any
method
that is
not working
for
relieving
life
threatening conditions.
