INCREASED DANDRUFF
IS
A
SIGN OF
SEBORRHEA
When you open your TV set, you
may frequently find numerous pharma-
ceutical, cosmetic, or chemical compa-
nies,
in an
overwhelming
manner, ad-
vertise with their
shampoo products
about the
effectiveness
of clearing
away
troublesome
dandrutf.
Medically, increased dandrutf
is
a sign of scalp disorder
-
seborrhea.
This
is
a common disorder
found
in all
age groups, which occurs
most fre-
quently on the
scalp,
and frequently
eyebrows, nasolabilie folds, and behind
the
ears.
Scaling
is
the
prominent fea-
ture and
is
loose and branny,
it
may be
yellow and
oily
or dry and
white.
The
lesion
may become exudative
and
crusted and
eczematous.
Dandruff
means
little scales
orflakes
of dead
skin
formed
on the
scalp.
lt has been
known
that
little
dry scales shed
by
the skin as
dandrutf
is
caused
by fungus, and
for-
tunately,
it
has been demonstrated
that
a type of shampoo with
fungicides,
Triatop (ketoconazole)
is
effective to
kill
fungus and clear away dandrutf.
