BRIEF
DISCUSSION
OF HYPERTENSION
Hypertension
is
a common con-
dition and affects approximately 80
mil-
lion
adults
in
China.
The hazard of
hy-
pertension
and
its major complication,
widespread vascular disease, would be
demonstrated by deleterious effects
of
blood
pressure
levels
exceeding certain
limits.
The present paper tells the story
in brief
about the normal range of blood
pressure,
the
measurement of arterial
pressure, symptoms and signs, clinical
evaluation
of
primary
or
secondary
forms
of
hypertension, strategies
of
treatment,
and
approaches
in detail
to
drug
therapies.
Thus,
the
paper gives
an
understanding of
the
knowledge
of
the abnormality of blood pressure, and
would be
useful
for both patients
with
hypertension and those
in
high
risk
of
hypertension.
