extracted
from
mycelium
of
Yunzhi
Cov-1 strain
in
submerged culture
with
advanced
scientific method. Yunzhi
is
part
of zhi in
compendium of
materia medica. lt can replenish vital
essence,
strengthen
the
bones
and
muscles,
and
expel
the
pathogenic factor
to
prolong life.
ln
Nov.
1991,
eight hospitals were
designated
to
carry out
the
second stage
clinical
observation
for
PSP.
From
Feb.
to Jul.
1992,485
patients
with
esophagus
cancer,
stomach
cancer
and primary lung
cancer
treated by chemotherapy
or
radiotherapy
combined
with
PSP
were
investigated. There
are
274 patients
treated
as
random double blind
control of
prospective
clinical study and 21'l patients
as
auto-control. The results showed
that
PSP
had
the
effects
of
improving
the
symptoms caused
by
chemotherapy
or
radiotherapy and operation. Furthermore,
PSP
had
the
effects
of
improving
and
protecting immunologic function
and
blood
picture.
As
adjuvant
for
treatment
of
cancer.
the
total
effective rate
of
PSP
was
82.96%o,
while it
was 45.'18%(P<0.001)in
control
group.
