General Zhang
Ai-ping,
born in
Da
County of
Sichuan Province,
with
heroic
military
career
for sixty two
years,
is
now eighty
two
years
old.
He is a
good
calligrapher,
poet,
literary writer
and
pho-
tographer.
He
studied
at
the
Chinese
Arts
College
of
Shanghai in
1929.
He was
conferred with
the
military
rank
of Colonel
General
in
1955,
had been
appointed
Vice
Premier,
Minister
of
National
De-
fence, and
Chief
of
the
Scientific
Technological
Coimmission
of
the
National Defence
Ministry respectively.
He
contributed
greatly
es-
pecially as Director
of the
Scientists
on
developing
the
scientific
technique,
conquering
space,
projecting
satellites and submarines.
Recently,
he
has
resigned
all
the government offices,
takes
good
care
of
his
health
and
hygiene,
while supporting the
youth
with
tireless
energy.
