Abdominal aortic
aneurysms as secondary atherosclerosis fol-
lowing
hypertension, account
for
55% of the
cases. Typical
symp-
tom
is
umbilical abdomen pain. Severe complications
include
the
risk
of
rupture, and
mortality
is
80%.
Aneurysm with
a
less
than
5
cm diameter,
its
risk of rupture
is
only
5%o,
however, when
7
cm
in
diameter,
the
risk
of
rupture
is
76%. Sonography
is
optimal for
screening.
CT
and
MRI
are
accurate
approach
to
evaluate aortic
aneurysm.
We
recommend to observe
the
aneurysm
growth
care-
fully, when
the
aneurysm
increase
more
than
6
cm
in diameter,
op-
eration must
be
selected, the
mortality
is
lower
than
2-10%.
