LIVER CANCER
FORMATION FROM
HEPATITIS
Primary
liver
cancer
is
mainly
due
to
the
hepatitis
B
virus, though a minority
is due
to
aflatoxin and
nitrosamines
taken
in.
The hepatitis
B
virus
is
difficult to eradicate and after
many years, cirrhosis or
even
cancer
may
ensue. The hepati-
tis
B
surface antigen
(HBsAg)
is
positive
but
without any clini-
cal
manifestations
-
a
carrier
state.
