Recently, well-known actors
like Kao Xiumin
and
Fu
Biao
have
passed away
at
young ages of
46
and 42. Chairman Huang
of a
well-known company
in
Shanghai, also
died
at
the
age
of 38.
Unfortunately,
the
mean
age
of
the well
educated
in
China
is
only 58,
10
years younger than
the National mean. ln
Beijing,
the
mean age is even lower, at
53.
As
the
usual
cause of death
is
related
to
blood vesselpatholo-
gies,
unhealthy blood vessels
have
contributed
much
to
the
prevalence
of
"The good
die
young" phenomenon in
China.
This
is
serious, as, paradoxically,
the death
rates
from blood ves-
sel diseases are already postu-
lated
to decline
in
the
West. We
take in
more and
more
fat
but
exert
less and
less
physically
-
obesity
at
middle age
is
now
prevalent.
Unaware
of
serious
atherosclerosis or hardening of
their
vessels,
the
educated
middle age continues to over ex-
ert
themselves.
As the
leading
threat
to
health,
obesity is
now
listed
by
the WHO as a "disease
entity".
The
middle age
must
moderate
work and
activities,
take
regular exercises,
refrain
from
over-eating, adopt a well-
balanced philosophy
of
life.
Above all,
take
regular physical
checks.
