MONA LIZA SUFFERED

BLOOD.LIPID
SYNDROME
The
French painting entitled
"Mona Liza"
is
world famous.
Recently,
a
Japanese physician found
out that
the
inner
corner
of
the
left eye
of Mona Liza
actually had
a
flat
xanthema
- a
plaque-
like deposit of fat underneath the skin,
usually due
to a
disturbance
in
metabo-
lism resulting in high blood lipid levels.
Flat
xamthema
is
common
in
the
middle-age females
-
they
should
consult
their
doctor
for
possible
associated atherosclerosis (hardening)
of
the
arteries.
When the
levels
of blood
cholesterol
and
triglycerides are
high,
atherosclerosis would occur
more
easily
-
the
arteries of
the
heart, brain,
and kidneys can
be
affected.
ln
worst
cases,
symptoms
of
dizziness,
giddiness and loss of memory due to
brain
artery
atherosclerosis can occur.
Keep a
sound body and
mind;
take part
in
appropriate sports
activities.
Avoid
taking cholesterol-rich food,
e.g.
animal
fat,
internal organs,
egg
yolk,
etc.
Above
all, take plenty of fibre-containing food,
vitamin
C, fresh
fruits
and vegetables.
Always monitor
the
blood
lipid
levels
closely.
