in Mexico

help

prevent
this

The
prostate
is
like a hill and
the
urine pas-
sage, a streamlet flowing
through.

the hill has landslides, the flow
of
the
streamlet
is
affected.
Patients
have
fre-
quency of urination, weak stream
and
even difficulty
in passing.
Painless
blood stained urine
and
pain on elacu-
lation are also signs
of
prostate can-
cer.
Early prostate cancer
can
be
resected; radiation
therapy also
has
definite value; for infirm patients,
hor-
mone treatment may be
employed. As
prostate cancer
can
be hidden
in
the
gland substance, early detection is not
easy.
Apart from rectal examination,
prostate cancer can be picked up by a
blood
test
-
PSA.

the
test
is
positive,
other
tests
like
trans-rectal
ultrasound,
cystoscopy,
biopsy etc should be
con-
sidered.
