The disastrous
red
tide
made its
attack on
Hong Kong. rendering the
death of a large quantity
of
reared sea
fish. Over
1500
tonnes of
dead fish
were
floating
on
the
sea in
the
rearing
districts. The
dead
fish caused
by
the
red
tide
began to decompose and emit
a
stinky
odour within
a
few days caus-
ing
serious
pollution
within
Hong
Kong's
waters. Wave after wave the
red
tide
continued
to
invade
the
fish-rearing
grounds. The culprit
of
this
red
tide
is
connected
with
the daily worsening sea
water pollution. Therefore, in long-term
speaking, the most effective strategy
to
prevent the future attack
ol
red
tides
is
to stop
the aggravation of pollution
by
up-grading
sea
water quality,
improv-
ing
the
alarm signal
system
in observ-
ing
the
red tides by uniting the experts
both
at
home &
abroad, and skength-
ening the communication with fisher-
man
who
are
the
ones
that
would
first
catch sight ol
the
red
tides
before
they
move further with water currents.
