There are times
the
human body
makes mistakes using its own antibod-
ies
to ward off
diseases.
One such ex-
ample is known as trasnferred or sym-
pathetic
ophthalmia.
ln the course of
this
disease,
the
damaged tissue
of
one
eye evoke the body's own antibodies
to attack
similar
tissues
in
the healthy
eye causing eventual blindness in both
eyes.
To remedy
this,
immediate
re-
moval
of the severely
damaged eye

may
eliminate the
source of
fur-
ther
contamination
in
the
blood.
lnfertility arising from
spermal
antibodies and endometriosis caused
by
wrong
implantation of
the
endothe-
lium
in
the
uterus
are cited to
demon-
strate the same concept.
