During the presidency of the American ex-president Reagan,
he had suffered twice from colon cancer. Fortunately, with early
diagnoses and operations, he recovered and remains in good
health.
The researches of Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of
Military Medical Sciences were inspired and designed a new
method to examine occult blood. lt is usefulfor early diagnosis of
colon cancer. Taking the hint, they have applied the same method
to test the occult blood in sputum through the general investi-
gation of early stage lung cancer.
